Crock Pot BBQ Pulled Pork

Pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw

Why it's dumb & done

Two main ingredients and almost no hands-on time. It also makes enough for leftovers, like nachos or quesadillas the next night.

Why kids will like it

Sweet BBQ sauce on a soft bun is an easy win. Kids can make their own little sliders and skip the coleslaw if they want.

The recipe

You'll need

  • 3 lb pork shoulder (boneless)
  • 1 bottle (18 oz) BBQ sauce
  • 1/2 cup apple juice or chicken broth
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Hamburger buns, for serving

Do this

  1. Put the pork in the crock pot and sprinkle with garlic powder.
  2. Pour in the apple juice and half the BBQ sauce.
  3. Cook on low 8–10 hours, until it falls apart.
  4. Shred with two forks, stir in the rest of the BBQ sauce, and serve on buns.
