We’re kicking off our Art Off The Rails 2025 Artist Series in a BIG way—with a giant LEGO® mosaic build that you can help create! 🚂🧱

Join us Saturday, June 7 and add your piece to a massive LEGO mural that will become a permanent part of TrainTastic’s exhibit space.
The mosaic will be built square by square by our guests, using patterns and color guides to make it easy for LEGO lovers of all ages to take part. Whether you place one tile or a hundred, you’ll be part of a collaborative art piece that celebrates imagination, creativity, and our community.

Special thanks to the Brick Builders Club of the Mississippi Gulf Coast and Bricks & Minifigs Metairie for helping us design and bring this vision to life—brick by brick!

Is your child ready to stay home alone or start babysitting? The Safe Sitter® Essentials with CPR class is designed to teach students in grades 6–8 the skills they need to be safe when caring for themselves or others.

• Through fun games, hands-on activities, and role-playing, students will learn first aid, rescue skills like choking rescue using manikins, and how to handle emergencies.

• Cost: $75 for the first child, $60 for each sibling

• Lunch: Please bring a sack lunch – snacks and drinks will be provided.

Be a Health Scientist this summer! Join Lynn Meadows Discovery Center for the evening and explore big ideas in the world of Health Science! GSK Science in the Summer in collaboration with The Franklin Institute, is a fun, FREE STEM program that aims to inspire the next generation of scientists! Pre-registration is required, spots are limited. Dinner will be provided. Programming is suitable for children entering grades 2 through 6.

Free Friday Night at Lynn Meadows Discovery Center

The last Friday of every month, from 5pm to 8pm, admission is FREE for everyone!  It’s a great time to “treat” friends and family members to a night at the museum!

Music Mondays- Groovy Dance Moves

We’re getting musical on Mondays! Join us every Monday at 4 PM for a fun, interactive mini music lesson. This month, we’ll explore the connection between musical notes and colors, making learning music a colorful adventure.

Join us to explore watercolor in this family-friendly workshop on the Ohr O’Keefe Museum campus to create your own water themed cards. Participants will learn basic watercolor painting techniques before designing their own cards. Once complete, participants will add decorative line work to complete their project.

No previous experience necessary for the workshop. Beginners, experts, all levels of ability are welcome.

All materials will be provided by the studio. Participants will be able to complete at least one card to take with them at the workshop.

Level: Ages 10 and up – parent or guardian must also register for class
