Crock Pot Mac and Cheese

dumb and done meals

Crock pot6 ingredientsNo boiling
Bowl of creamy crock pot mac and cheese

Why it's dumb & done

The pasta cooks right in the crock pot, so there's no pot of water to boil and no colander to wash.

Why kids will like it

It's mac and cheese. Enough said. It's creamier than the boxed kind, and it works as dinner or as a side at any family get-together.

The recipe

You'll need

  • 1 lb elbow macaroni, uncooked
  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp salt

Do this

  1. Grease the crock pot, then add the dry pasta, milk, evaporated milk, butter and salt. Stir.
  2. Cook on low 2–2.5 hours, stirring every 30 minutes, until the pasta is tender.
  3. Stir in the cheese until melted. Add a splash of milk if it gets too thick.
